"A councilor was murdered, RJ Chowdhury arrested the murderer."

One. In the Mayor's office ✒

The girl was willing to marry the murderer, even the girl's parents were willing to marry her. In such a situation, Mr. Abru prevented the marriage through UNO. And he warned that if this marriage took place, then the boy, that is, the murderer, would be sent to jail. So the marriage ceremony was stopped.

"But a month later the girl got married to another boy. However, neither Mr. UNO nor Mr. Abru prevented it. The matter made the murderer very angry. So he killed Mr. Abru. And that murderer is present at this meeting."

এক. মেয়র সাহেবের অফিসে ✒

পৌরসভার মেয়র মি. বুলবুল বললেন,“আমার পৌরসভার একজন কাউন্সিলর আবরু খুন হয়েছেন,আর আমি বসে বসে তামাশা দেখবো না।আপনি যেভাবেই হোক খুনিকে ধরুন।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“আপনি আমাকে টাকার বিনিময়ে হায়ার করেছেন।আমি খুনিকে আটক করবো। কিন্তু কিছুটা সময় আমাকে দিতেই হবে।আমি তদন্তের দায়িত্ব নিলাম আর অমনি সাথে সাথে খুনিকে ধরে ফেলব, এরকম আশা করা ভুল।”

মি. বুলবুল বললেন,“বিষয়টা আমিও বুঝতে পেরেছি। কিন্তু ওই হত্যাকাণ্ডের কারণে আমার মধ্যে অস্থিরতা শুরু হয়েছে।তাই আমি চাচ্ছি যত তাড়াতাড়ি সম্ভব আপনি ওই খুনিকে খুঁজে বের করুন।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“হ্যাঁ,ওই খুনিকে আমি অবশ্যই খুঁজে বের করব।এখন নিহত কাউন্সিলরের এলাকায় আমাকে যেতে হবে।”

দুই. নিহত কাউন্সিলরের এলাকায় ✒

আরজে চৌধুরী এবার গেলো নিহত মি. আবরুর এলাকায়।

সেই স্থানের একজন বয়স্ক লোককে আরজে চৌধুরী জিজ্ঞেস করল,“নিহত মি. আবরু লোক হিসেবে কেমন ছিলেন?”

লোকটা বললেন,“তেমন‍ খারাপ না। কাউন্সিলর মানুষ তো,তাই ভালো খারাপ ও সকল কাজেই তিনি থাকেন।তা না হলে যে,ভোট কমতে থাকবে।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“আপনার সাথে কি মি. আবরুর সম্পর্ক তেমন ভালো ছিলো না?”

একথা শুনে লোকটা অসন্তুষ্ট হয়ে আরজে চৌধুরীর দিকে তাকিয়ে রইলো। আরজে চৌধুরী কথা না বাড়িয়ে ওই লোকের কাছ থেকে চলে এলো।

এরপর আরো অনেক জনের কাছ থেকে আরজে চৌধুরী তথ্য সংগ্ৰহ করলো।সেই তথ্যগুলোর সারমর্ম হলো এরকম, কাউন্সিলর মি. আবরু মোটের ওপর ছিলেন এলাকায় জনপ্রিয় মানুষ। কাউন্সিলর হওয়ার পরই তিনি অবৈধ মাদক ব্যবসায়ীদেরকে ধরে পুলিশে দিয়ে দিয়েছিলেন। এলাকায় রাস্তা করার সময় কিছু যুবক কাজ বন্ধ করে দিয়েছিলো।বলেছিলো,চাঁদার টাকা না দিলে কাজ করতে দেয়া হবে না।এটা জানার পর মি. আবরু এসে ওই যুবকদেরকে পিটিয়ে থানায় পাঠিয়েছিলেন।তিনি নিজের এলাকায় বাল্যবিয়ে বন্ধ করেছেন।এলাকায় কোন বাল্যবিয়ের আয়োজন হলে তিনি উপস্থিত হয়ে বন্ধ করে দিতেন। এরকম অনেক কাজ করে তিনি নিজের এলাকায় তো বটেই, ইউএনও সাহেবেরও অনেক প্রশংসা পেয়েছেন।এভাবেই মি. আবরু নিজের এলাকায় একজন জনপ্রিয় ব্যক্তিতে পরিণত হয়েছেন।শোনা যাচ্ছিল,তিনি নাকি ভবিষ্যতে পৌরসভার মেয়র হিসেবে নির্বাচন করবেন।

তিন. আবার পৌরসভার অফিসে ✒

আরজে চৌধুরীকে দেখে মেয়র বুলবুল সাহেব বললেন,“খুনির খোঁজ কি পেয়েছেন?”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“খুনির খোঁজ এখনো পাইনি। কিন্তু একটা বিষয়ে আমি আপনার সাথে আলোচনা করতে এসেছি।আমি আশা করছি,আমাকে আপনি সত্য কথা বলবেন।”

মি. বুলবুল বললেন,“আমি আপনাকে টাকা খরচ করে হায়ার করে আনলাম।অথচ আপনিই এখন আমার অফিসে এসে এমনভাবে কথা বলছেন,যেন আমি অনেক কিছুই গোপন করেছি অথবা আমিই অপরাধী।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“আপনি আমাকে টাকা দিয়ে হায়ার করেছেন,বিষয়টা আমি ভুলিনি। কিন্তু তদন্তের স্বার্থে আপনাকে সত্য কথা বলতেই হবে।”

মি. বুলবুল একটু ভেবেচিন্তে একটা দীর্ঘশ্বাস ফেলে বললেন,“আচ্ছা বলেন,কোন বিষয়ে আমার সাথে আলোচনা করতে চাচ্ছেন?”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“আমি জেনেছি,মি. আবরু নিজের এলাকায় সেবামূলক অনেক কাজ করে জনপ্রিয়তা অর্জন করেছেন।আরো শোনেছি ভবিষ্যতে তিনি পৌরসভার মেয়র পদে নির্বাচন করবেন।তো এ ব্যাপারে আপনার কি মতামত?”

একথা শোনে মি. বুলবুল বললেন,“সে কাউন্সিলর ছিলো,নিজের এলাকায় জনসেবামূলক কাজ করে জনপ্রিয়তা অর্জন করেছে,এটা তো বেশ ভালো ব্যাপার।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“মি. আবরু ভবিষ্যতে মেয়র পদে নির্বাচন করবেন,এটাও কি আপনার কাছে ভালো ব্যাপার ছিলো?”

একথা শোনে আরজে চৌধুরীর দিকে মি. বুলবুল চোখ বড় বড় করে তাকিয়ে বললেন,“আপনি কী বলতে চাচ্ছেন?”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“আমি বলতে চাচ্ছি,মি. আবরু ভবিষ্যতে মেয়র পদে নির্বাচন করবেন,বিষয়টা কি আপনার জন্য দুশ্চিন্তার কারণ হয়নি?তিনি ছিলেন আপনার অধীনস্থ পৌরসভার আট নাম্বার ওয়ার্ডের কাউন্সিলর।অথচ তিনির জনপ্রিয়তা ছড়িয়ে যাচ্ছিল অন্যান্য ওয়ার্ডে।এসকল কারণে আপনার জনপ্রিয়তা কি কমে যাচ্ছিল না?এসকল বিষয় কি আপনার খুবই ভালো লেগেছিলো?”

মি. বুলবুল এবার অনেকটা শান্ত হলেন।তিনি ভদ্রভাবে বললেন,“এই বিষয়টা আমার কাছে ততো ভালো লাগেনি।তা ছাড়া ইদানিং আমাদের সাপ্তাহিক মিটিংয়ে অর্থাৎ মেয়র,প্যানেল মেয়র আর কাউন্সিলরদের যে মিটিং হয়,তাতে আবরু বেশি কথা বলতো।এমনকি আমার অনেক সিদ্ধান্তকে ভুল বলতো আর সে বলতো, কীভাবে কাজ করতে হবে। আমার কাছে বিষয়টা খুবই খারাপ লাগতো।আমাদের ওই মিটিং লাইভ সম্প্রচার হতো না।তাই আমিও তখনই আমার অসন্তোষ প্রকাশ করতাম। কিন্তু বিশ্বাস করেন প্লিজ,আবরুকে আমি খুন করিনি।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“গণতান্ত্রিক দেশে নির্বাচন করার অবাধ সুযোগ রয়েছে।তাই যে কেউ যে কোন পদে নির্বাচনে অংশগ্রহণ করতে পারেন। একারণে প্রতিযোগিতা হবেই, কিন্তু কেউকে খুন করে ফেলা কখনই কাম্য না। আচ্ছা, আপনার কাছে যে বিষয়টা জানার ছিলো,সেটা জেনেছি।আমাকে আরো কাজ করতে হবে।”

একথা বলে পৌরসভার অফিস থেকে আরজে চৌধুরী বের হয়ে এলো।

চার. থানায় আরজে চৌধুরী ✒

থানায় গিয়ে মি. ওসিকে আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“আমি এসেছি প্রাইভেটলি মি. আবরুর খুনের তদন্ত করার জন্য।”

মি. ওসি বললেন,“এর মানে আপনি প্রাইভেট ডিটেক্টিভ।প্রাইভেট ডিটেক্টিভ থাকেন গল্পের মধ্যে।তো বাস্তবে আপনি এসে তদন্ত শুরু করেছেন।তো আপনাকে নিয়োগ করেছে কে?”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“আপনি আমাকে প্রাইভেট ডিটেক্টিভ বললে বলতেও পারেন।আর আমাকে টাকার বিনিময়ে হায়ার করেছেন,এই পৌরসভার মি. মেয়র।তো এবার আমার কিছু তথ্যের দরকার ছিলো। সেগুলোই আমি জানতে এসেছি।”

মি. ওসি বললেন,“আচ্ছা,আপনার কিছু জিজ্ঞেস করার থাকলে বলুন।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“মি. আবরু যে সকল অবৈধ মাদক কারবারিদেরকে ধরিয়ে দিয়েছিলেন,তাদের সাথে কি তিনির আগে কোন শত্রুতা ছিলো?”

মি. ওসি বললেন,“আগের কোন শত্রুতা ছিলো কি না,সেটা আমার জানা নাই। কিন্তু ওদেরকে ধরিয়ে দেয়ার পর মি. আবরুর সাথে ওদের শত্রুতা তৈরি হয়েছিলো,সে ব্যাপারে আমি নিশ্চিত।”

একথা শোনে আরজে চৌধুরী মুচকি মুচকি হেসে বলল,“অবৈধ মাদক কারবারিদেরকে ধরিয়ে দেয়ার পর একটা শত্রুতা তৈরি হবে এটাই স্বাভাবিক।আমি মূলত জানতে চেয়েছিলাম,আগে থেকে কোন শত্রুতা ছিলো কি না?”

মি. ওসি এবার থতমত খেয়ে আবার নিজেকে সামলে নিয়ে বললেন,“আগে থেকে কোন শত্রুতা ছিলো কি না,সেটা আমার জানা নাই।তো আপনার আর কিছু জিজ্ঞেস করার আছে?”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“মি. আবরুর লাশ আপনারা কোথায় পেয়েছিলেন?”

মি. ওসি বললেন,“আমরা খবর পেয়ে মি. আবরুর আট নাম্বার ওয়ার্ডের অফিসে গিয়েছিলাম।গিয়ে দেখি,মি. আরুর চেয়ারে তিনির গলাকাটা লাশ বসিয়ে রাখা হয়েছে।আমরা ধারণা করেছি,মি. আবরুকে বসা অবস্থাতেই গলা কেটে খুন করা হয়েছে।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“আমার যেগুলো জানার ছিলো, সেগুলো জেনেছি।”

এরপর আরজে চৌধুরী থানা থেকে বেরিয়ে এলো।

পাঁচ. মি. ইউএনওর অফিসে ✒

আরজে চৌধুরী এবার মি. ইউএনওর অফিসে গিয়ে মি. ইউএনওকে জিজ্ঞেস করল,“নিহত কাউন্সিলর মি. আবরুকে আপনি কতটুকু চিনতেন?”

মি. ইউএনও বললেন,“মি. আবরুকে আমি একজন ইউএনও হিসেবে যতটুকু চেনার,ততোটুকুই চিনতাম।দেখুন,আমরা ইউএনও।আমাদের চাকরির এলাকায় আমরা তো রাস্তাঘাট করে দিই না।আবার এলাকার জনপ্রতিনিধিদের সাথেও আমাদেরকে মিলেমিশে থাকতে হয়।যখন যে জনপ্রতিনিধি একটু ভালো কাজ করেন,তখন তিনিরই প্রশংসা করি।এবং ক্ষেত্র বিশেষে পাম্পপট্টিও (ফেইক ইনস্পাইরেশন) দিই। তাছাড়া আমাদের কি আগের দিন আছে?অতীতে শিক্ষিত মানুষ ছিলো খুবই কম।তাই ইউএনওদেরকে মানুষে না জানি কী মনে করতো। বর্তমানে ঘরে ঘরে শিক্ষিত মানুষ থাকার কারণে ইউএনওদেরকে লোকে দেখেও দেখে না,এমনকি ফিরিও চায় না।এরকম পরিস্থিতিতে আমি ইউএনও হয়ে একজন জনপ্রতিনিধিকে তেমন বেশি সাপোর্ট করতে পারিনা।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“বাল্যবিয়ে সংক্রান্ত ব্যাপারে মি. আবরু আপনাকে কীরকম সহযোগিতা করতেন?”

মি. ইউএনও বললেন,“নিজের এলাকায় বাল্যবিয়ে হওয়ার সময় মি. আবরু সেটা থামাতেন।এরপর আমাকে ফোন করে খবর দিতেন,তখন আমিও লোকজন নিয়ে উপস্থিত হতাম বাল্যবিয়ের ওই আসরে।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“বিনময়ে মি. আবরুকে আপনি কী দিতেন? মোটা অঙ্কের টাকা_পয়সা?”

মি. ইউএনও বললেন,“আরে না,আমরা ইউএনও।আমরা কেউকে কোন টাকা_পয়সা দিইনা। একটু প্রশংসা করি,আরেকটু সাপোর্ট করি এবং ক্ষেত্র বিশেষে অল্প পরিমাণে পাম্পপট্টি (ফেইক ইনস্পাইরেশন) দিই।এর বেশি কিছু না।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“মি. আবরুকে আপনি কোন পাম্পপট্টি (ফেইক ইনস্পাইরেশন) দিয়েছিলেন?”

মি. ইউএনও বললেন,“মি. আবরুকে আমি পাম্পপট্টি (ফেইক ইনস্পাইরেশন) দিয়ে বলেছিলাম, ‘আপনি যেভাবে জনসেবা করছেন,তাতে একদিন আপনি এই পৌরসভার মেয়র পদে নির্বাচন করে বিজয়ী হতে পারবেন।আর আপনার ছেলেও ভবিষ্যতে আমার মতো ইউএনও তো বটেই,একজন ডিসি এমনকি একজন তুখোড় সচিবও হতে পারবে।’এরপর থেকেই মি. আবরুর চেহারায় আত্মবিশ্বাসের ঝিলিক শুরু হয়েছিলো।এবং মি. আবরুর কথা ও কাজেও সেই আত্মবিশ্বাসের প্রতিফলন হচ্ছিল।”

এরপর ইউএনও সাহেবের অফিস থেকে আরজে চৌধুরী বের হয়ে এলো।

ছয়. মি. আবরুর অফিসে আরজে চৌধুরী ✒

এবার আরজে চৌধুরী গেলো মি. আবরুর স্থানীয় অফিসে।

অফিসের সামনে লেখা :- আট নাম্বার ওয়ার্ডের কাউন্সিলরের নিজস্ব অফিস।

এর নিচে ছোট করে লেখা :- দুর্নীতি করা ও সহযোগিতা করা দুটোই অপরাধ।অতএব দুর্নীতিকে না বলুন।

আরজে চৌধুরীকে অফিসের সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকতে দেখে একজন এসে জিজ্ঞেস করল,“আপনি কি কেউকে খুঁজছেন?”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“মেয়র মি. বুলবুলের পক্ষ থেকে আমি তদন্ত করছি মি. আবরুর খুনের ঘটনা।”

লোকটা বলল,“আমার নাম তমিজ।আমি মি. আবরুর পিএস।”

তমিজকে আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“অফিসের দরজাটা খুলে দেন।আমি ভেতরে ঢোকে দেখব।”

আরজে চৌধুরীর কথা মতো অফিসের দরজাটা তমিজ খুলে দিলো।আরজে চৌধুরী ভেতরে ঢোকে দেখলো চেয়ারে এখনো রক্ত লেগে আছে।টেবিলের জিনিসপত্র কিছুটা এলোমেলো হয়ে আছে।এমন সময় এক লোক দরজার সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে বললেন,“কী রে তমিজ,এখন আবার কে এলো রে?আজ কি এই লোক আমার ঘর ভাড়ার দেড় বছরের টাকা দিতে এসেছে?”

আরজে চৌধুরী জিজ্ঞেস করল,“কে আপনি?”

লোকটা বললেন,“আমি এই বাড়ির মালিক।দেড় বছর আগে আবরু কাউন্সিলর আমার কাছ থেকে এই ঘরটা ভাড়া নিয়েছিলো ওর অফিস করার জন্য।দেড় বছর হয়ে গেলো,এখনো কোন ভাড়া দেয়নি।অথচ দরজার সামনে লাগিয়ে রেখেছে, দুর্নীতিকে না বলুন।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“আপনার ঘরের ভাড়া তো আপনি পাবেনই। কিন্তু এখনের পরিস্থিতিটা অন্য রকম।আপনার ভাড়াটিয়া খুন হয়েছে।এ অবস্থায় আপনি চুপচাপ থাকুন।খুনি ধরা পড়ার পর আপনি আপনার ঘরের ভাড়ার জন্য মেয়র মি. বুলবুলের কাছে দরখাস্ত দেবেন।”

একথা শোনার পর ঘরের মালিক শান্ত হয়ে চলে গেলেন।

এরপর আরজে চৌধুরী অফিসটা আরো তল্লাশি করল।এবং চলে এলো।

সাত. খুনির সন্ধানে ✒

সন্ধ্যার ঠিক আগে আরজে চৌধুরী বের হলো খুনির সন্ধানে।

আরজে চৌধুরী আবার চলে এলো ওই পৌরসভার আট নাম্বার ওয়ার্ডে।

কয়েকটা ক্লু (তদন্তের সূত্র) ধরে সে অনেক্ষণ খুনির সন্ধান করল।

এরপর একটা বাড়ির সামনে বসে চা ও কেক খাইলো।চায়ের দোকানে বসে অনেক্ষণ টিভি দেখলো।টিভিতে তখন খবর চলছিলো।

এমন সময় আরজে চৌধুরীকে এক লোক জিজ্ঞেস করলেন,“আপনাকে তো আগে আমি এই এলাকায় দেখিনি। আপনি কি এই এলাকায় বেড়াতে এসেছেন?”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“হ্যাঁ,আমি এই এলাকার লোক নই।আমি এই এলাকাতে বেড়াতে এসেছি।”

একথা বলার পর আরজে চৌধুরী হোটেল বিল প্রদান করে চলে এলো।

এরপর থানায় গিয়ে মি. ওসির সাথে দেখা করে বলল,“খুনির সন্ধান আমি পেয়েছি।”

মি. ওসি প্রায় চমকে উঠে বললেন,“তাই না কি?এতো তাড়াতাড়ি আপনি কীভাবে খুনির সন্ধান পেলেন?খুনি এখন কোথায়?”

আরজে চৌধুরী প্রায় ফিস ফিস করে খুনির পরিচয় বলল।

শোনে মি. ওসি প্রায় চমকে উঠে বললেন,“আমি তো তাকে চিনি।ওরা তো এই এলাকার অনেক ধনী মানুষ।অথচ কাউন্সিলরকে খুন করেছে_এটা কে বিশ্বাস করবে?”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“এই কারণেই তো খুনিকে ধরতে হলে আমাদেরকে কৌশল অবলম্বন করতে হবে।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“পৌরসভার অফিসে মি. মেয়র একটা মিটিংয়ের আয়োজন করবেন। মিটিংটা হবে অল্প মানুষের।সেই মিটিংয়ে খুনিকেও ইনভাইট করা হবে।তখন আমি খুনিকে ধরব।”

আট. পৌরসভার মিটিংয়ে ✒

পৌরসভার মিটিংয়ে উপস্থিত হয়েছেন মি. মেয়র,মি. ইউএনও, দশজন পুলিশসহ মি. ওসি,প্রত্যেক ওয়ার্ডের কাউন্সিলর সহ আরো কিছু সম্মানিত ব্যক্তি।

মি. মেয়র বুলবুল বলতে লাগলেন,“আমার কাউন্সিলর আবরু নিহত হওয়ার পর তদন্ত করার জন্য আমি নিয়োগ করেছিলাম মি. আরজে চৌধুরীকে।তিনি এখন খুনিকে আমাদের সামনে ধরবেন।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলতে লাগলো,“আমি তদন্ত শুরু করে জানতে পারলাম,মি. আবরু এলাকায় অনেক ভালো কাজ করেছেন।অথচ তাকে খুন করা হয়েছে।তখন আমি বুঝলাম,মি. আবরু ভালো কাজ করে কিছু মানুষকে রাগিয়ে তুলেছেন।কারণ,ভালো কাজগুলো করার কারণে কিছু মানুষের ক্ষতি হয়েছে। তাই মি. আবরুকে ওদের যে কেউ খুন করেছে।আমি অনেক খুঁজ নিয়ে জানলাম,এখানে খুনটা হয়েছে ভিন্ন কারণে।মি. আবরু যে ভালো কাজগুলো করতেন, সেগুলোর মধ্যে একটা হচ্ছে বাল্যবিয়ে প্রতিরোধ করা।তিনি নিজের ওয়ার্ডের অনেক বাল্যবিয়ে প্রতিরোধ করেছেন।তাদেরই একজন ওই খুনটা করেছে। একটা মেয়েকে খুনি খুবই পছন্দ করতো।খুনিকে মেয়েটা বিয়ে করতে রাজি ছিলো,এমনকি মেয়েটার বাবা_মা বিয়ে দেয়ার জন্য রাজি ছিলো।বিয়ে হবে হবে এরকম পরিস্থিতিতে মি. ইউএনওর মাধ্যমে মি. আবরু বিয়েটা প্রতিরোধ করেন।এবং একথা বলে সতর্ক করে দেয়া হয় যে,যদি এই বিয়ে হয়,তাহলে ছেলেটাকে অর্থাৎ খুনিকে কারাগারে পাঠানো হবে।তাই বিয়ের কার্যক্রম বন্ধ করে দেয়া হয়েছিলো।

“কিন্তু একমাস পর মেয়েটার বিয়ে হয় আরেকটা ছেলের সাথে।অথচ মি. ইউএনও অথবা মি. আবরু কেউই সেটা প্রতিরোধ করেন নি।বিষয়টা খুনিকে খুবই রাগিয়ে তুলে।তাই মি. আবরুকে সে খুন করে।আর সেই খুনি এই মিটিংয়েই উপস্থিত আছে।”

একথা শেষ হতে না হতেই একজন উঠে দিলো দৌড়। কিন্তু বাইরে অবস্থানরত পুলিশরা তাকে ধরে আবার মিটিংয়ে নিয়ে এলেন।তাকে দেখে মি. মেয়র বললেন,“আরে সাজু,তুমি দৌড় দিলে কেন?”

সাজু বলল,“আমিই খুনি।আবরু কাউন্সিলরকে আমিই খুন করেছি।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“আপনার কি কোন কিছু বলার আছে?”

নয় (Nine) . খুনির বক্তব্য ✒

খুনি সাজু বলল,“ষোল বছরের একটা মেয়েকে আমি বিয়ে করতে চাইলাম।আমাকে প্রতিরোধ করা হলো‌।অথচ মাত্র একমাস পর ওই মেয়েটারই বিয়ে হলো আরেকটা ছেলের সাথে,তখন কোথায় ছিলো বাল্যবিয়ের বিধিনিষেধ? তখন কোথায় ছিলো আবরু কাউন্সিলর,আর কোথায় ছিলেন মি. ইউএনও?তাই আবরু কাউন্সিলরকে আমি খুন করেছি।”

মি. মেয়র বুলবুল বললেন,“এরকম ঘটনা বাংলাদেশে অহরহই ঘটছে। কিন্তু কেউকে তো কেউ খুন করছে না।”

খুনি সাজু বলল,“ওরা খুন করতে পার না,তাই করে না। কিন্তু আমি খুন করতে পেরেছি।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“আপনার এসব আবেগের কথা আদালতে যদি বলতে পারেন,তাহলে গিয়ে বলেন।এখন আপনি পুলিশের সাথে থানায় যান।”

এরপর খুনি সাজুকে ধরে মি. ওসিসহ সকল পুলিশ থানায় চলে গেলো।

দশ. আরজে চৌধুরী চলে এলো ✒

আরজে চৌধুরীকে মি. মেয়র বুলবুল বললেন,“খুনিকে ধরে আপনি অনেক ভালো কাজ করেছেন।তা না হলে,হয়তো আমাকেই সন্দেহ করা হতো যে, আবরু কাউন্সিলর ভবিষ্যতে মেয়র পদে নির্বাচন করে আমাকে পরাজিত করে মেয়র হবে _ এই আশঙ্কায় তাকে আমি খুন করেছি।আজ খুনিকে আপনি ধরিয়ে আমার ইমেজটাকে বজায় রেখেছেন।”

আরজে চৌধুরী বলল,“আমি টাকার বিনিময়ে কাজ করি। টাকার বিনিময়ে আমাকে আপনি হায়ার করেছেন,আমি আমার কাজ করেছি।”
