In the morning Aglu left the house. He headed towards the market. When he went to the market, he saw people huddled together reading posters. 

Aglu also went in front of a poster and saw, Corruption is a major problem in the development of society. Corruption is the main reason why your area is not developing. Corruption is not only your area, but also the big difficulty of development of the whole country. So provide us with information about the corrupt, and participate in the development of the country and nation. 

After reading this poster, Aglu got a new motivation to do something in life. He is thinking,“I got admitted to college but didn't graduate and didn't get a job properly.” He spends his life doing little jobs at home. Occasionally he was stressed. What has he been able to do in life? Couldn't do anything for the country, couldn't do anything for the society. Life will be in vain? 

Now there is no inferiority. He quickly took out his mobile phone from his pocket and typed the anti-corruption office email. 

Then he came to home from market. From that day Aglu started the work of finding the corrupt. He started investigating who is involved in corruption in his area. Collects information about each corrupt person and informs them by e-mail. 

This went on for a long time. One day he realized that while collecting information about the corrupt, his income had decreased. Before doing this job, he used to earn 800 taka per day. Now his income is 300 to 350 taka. 

Still, he continued to gather information about the corrupt. And continued to e-mail them. He hopes that one day he will be called and rewarded by the head of the anti-corruption office. 

But even after a year, no call came for him. But the corrupt people who provided his information are being caught, and action is being taken. Then he realized that the work was being done according to his information, but he was not being given any reward or remuneration. 

After all these things, he gave up collecting information and e-mailing one day. 

He now focused on his work and income. A few months passed like this. Meanwhile, a call came from an unsaved number: “Are you Mr. Aglu? I was saying, Big Sir, from the anti-corruption office. Many people said me corruption sir. You used to give us a lot of information; now you don't provide us any information. What is the reason for this?”

Aglu said, “Giving you information has wasted a lot of my time. My income has decreased. So I am forced to give up collecting and e-mailing information.”

Corruption sir said, “It is not a matter. I will come to your house and consult you. Then this problem will not exist.” 

The next day corruption sir came to Aglu's house. Corruption Sir explained a lot about corruption and gave advice but did not give a single penny. Meanwhile, Aglu's wife cooked native chicken and Pabda fish. In the afternoon, corruption sir ate them and in the afternoon left Aglu's house. At that time some people surrounded corruption sir. 

One said, “Corruption sir, we were waiting for this day. We knew that Aglu was providing you information. But we did not say anything to Aglu. Because Aglu is a simple person, and he has patriotism in him. So we were waiting to catch you without saying anything to him. We got you today.”

Another person said, “According to the information given by Aglu, you caught us. You took a huge amount of money from us and released us. But you did not take any legal action. So you are more corrupt than us. You are doing big corruption in the name of anti-corruption.”

On hearing this, corruption sir said, “We do a campaign against corruption. Some simple people in the society provide information about the corrupt people. And we catch the corrupt people according to that information. Then we collect massive money from the corrupt people and release them. This is how we exploit the anti-corruption sentiment and unofficially earn a lot of money.”

Then, corruption sir was handed over to police. (The end.)

সকালবেলা আগলু বাড়ি থেকে বের হলো। সে বাজারের দিকে রওয়ানা হলো। বাজারে গিয়ে সে দেখলো বিভিন্ন স্থানে লোকজন জটলা করে পোস্টার পড়তেছে।

আবলুও একটা পোস্টারের সামনে গিয়ে দেখলো, তাতে লেখা :-

দুর্নীতি সমাজের উন্নতিতে বড় সমস্যা। আপনার এলাকার উন্নয়ন না হওয়ার মূল কারণই হচ্ছে দুর্নীতি। দুর্নীতি শুধু আপনার এলাকাই না, বরং সারা দেশের উন্নয়নের বড় সমস্যা। তাই দুর্নীতিবাজদের সম্পর্কে আমাদেরকে তথ্য দেন, দেশ ও জাতির উন্নয়নে অংশগ্রহণ করুন।

এই পোস্টার পড়ে আবলু যেন নতুন প্রেরণা পেলো জীবনে একটা কিছু করার। কলেজে ভর্তি হয়েছিলো, কিন্তু গ্ৰেজুয়েশন করা হয়নি, চাকরিও ঠিকমতো করা হয়নি। বাড়িতে টুকটাক কাজ করে জীবন অতিবাহিত করতেছে। মাঝে মাঝে টেনশন করতো, জীবনে কী করতে পেরেছে? না পেরেছে দেশের জন্য কিছু করতে, না পেরেছে সমাজের জন্য কিছু করতে। জীবনটা কি তাহলে বৃথা যাবে?

এখন আগের সেই হীনমন্যতা নাই। সে তাড়াতাড়ি পকেট থেকে মোবাইল ফোনটা বের করলো, তাতে দুর্নীতি দমন অফিসের ইমেইলটা টাইপ করে নিলো।

এরপর বাজার সদাই করে চলে এলো বাড়িতে। সেদিন থেকেই আবলু শুরু করলো দুর্নীতিবাজদের খোঁজার কাজ। ওর এলাকায়  কারা দুর্নীতির সাথে জড়িত, সেটার অনুসন্ধান শুরু করলো। একেকজন দুর্নীতিবাজ সম্পর্কে তথ্য সংগ্ৰহ করে আর ই-মেইল করে জানিয়ে দেয় সে সকল তথ্য।

এভাবে চললো অনেকদিন। একদিন বুঝতে পারলো, দুর্নীতিবাজদের সম্পর্কে তথ্য সংগ্ৰহ করতে গিয়ে ওর নিজের আয়রোজগার কমে গিয়েছে। এই কাজ করার আগে সে প্রতিদিন ইনকাম করতো আটশ টাকা। এখন ওর ইনকাম হয়, তিনশ থেকে সাড়ে তিনশ টাকা।

এরপরও সে দুর্নীতিবাজ সম্পর্কে তথ্য সংগ্ৰহ করা অব্যাহত রাখলো। এবং সেগুলো ই-মেইল করাও অব্যাহত রাখলো। ওর মনে এই আশা যে, তাকে একদিন দুর্নীতি দমন অফিসের বড় কর্তা ফোন করে অফিসে ডাকবেন এবং পুরস্কৃত করবেন।

কিন্তু একবছর পেরিয়ে গেলেও ওর জন্য কোনো ডাক আসেনি। অথচ ওর তথ্য দেয়া দুর্নীতিবাজদেরকে ধরা হচ্ছে, এবং ব্যবস্থা নেয়া হচ্ছে। তখন সে বুঝলো, ওর তথ্য অনুযায়ী কাজ হচ্ছে, কিন্তু তাকে কোনো পুরস্কার অথবা পারিশ্রমিক দেয়া হচ্ছেনা।

এসকল বিষয়ের পর সে একদিন তথ্য সংগ্ৰহ ও ই-মেইল করা ছেড়ে দিলো।

সে এখন নিজের কাজ ও আয়রোজগারে মনোযোগ দিলো। এভাবে চলে গেলো কয়েক মাস। এরই মধ্যে হঠাৎ করে আনসেইভ একটা নাম্বার থেকে ফোন এলো,“আপনি কি আবলু সাহেব? আমি দুর্নীতি দমন অফিস থেকে বড় স্যার বলছিলাম। আমাকে অনেকেই দুর্নীতি স্যার বলে সম্বোধন করে। আপনি তো আগে আমাদেরকে অনেক তথ্য দিতেন, এখন তো কোনো তথ্য দিচ্ছেননা। এর কারণ কী?”

আবলু বলল,“আপনাদেরকে তথ্য দেয়ার কারণে আমার সময়ের অনেক অপচয় হয়েছে। আমার আয়রোজগার কমে গিয়েছে। তাই আমি বাধ্য হয়েছি তথ্য সংগ্রহ করা এবং ই-মেইল করা ছেড়ে দিতে।”

দুর্নীতি স্যার বললেন,“এটা কোনো বিষয় না। আমি আপনার বাড়িতে আসবো এবং আপনার সাথে কনসালটেশন করবো। তখন এই সমস্যাটা থাকবেনা।”

পরেরদিন দুর্নীতি স্যার এলেন আবলুর বাড়িতে। আবলুকে দুর্নীতি স্যার অনেক বুঝালেন, পরামর্শ দিলেন, কিন্তু একটা টাকাও দিলেননা। এদিকে আবলুর বউ রান্না করলো দেশি মোরগ আর পাবদা মাছ। দুপুরে দুর্নীতি স্যার সেগুলো খাইলেন এবং বিকালবেলা বের হলেন আবলুর বাড়ি থেকে।এমন সময় কিছু লোক দুর্নীতি স্যারকে ঘিরে ধরলো।

একজন বলল,“দুর্নীতি স্যার, আমরা এই দিনটার অপেক্ষাতেই ছিলাম। আবলু যে আপনাদেরকে তথ্য দিচ্ছে, সেটা আমরা জানতাম। কিন্তু আবলুকে আমরা কিছুই বলিনি। কেননা, আবলু একজন সহজ সরল মানুষ এবং ওর মধ্যে দেশপ্রেমও আছে। তাই তাকে কিছু না বলে আপনাকে ধরার জন্য অপেক্ষা করতেছিলাম। আজ আপনাকে পেলাম।”

আরেকজন বলল,“আবলুর দেয়া তথ্য অনুযায়ী আপনি আমাদেরকে ধরেছেন। আমাদের কাছ থেকে মোটা অংকের টাকা নিয়েছেন এবং ছেড়ে দিয়েছেন। অথচ আইনগত কোনো ব্যবস্থা নেননি। তাই আপনি হচ্ছেন আমাদের চেয়ে বড় দুর্নীতিবাজ। দুর্নীতি দমনের নামে আপনিই বড় দুর্নীতি করতেছেন।”

একথা শোনে দুর্নীতি স্যার বললেন,“আমরা দুর্নীতির বিরুদ্ধে প্রচারণা চালাই। তাতে সমাজের কিছু সহজ সরল লোকে দুর্নীতিবাজদের সম্পর্কে তথ্য দেয়। আর আমরা সেই তথ্য অনুযায়ী দুর্নীতিবাজদেরকে ধরি। এরপর দুর্নীতিবাজদের কাছ থেকে মোটা টাকা আদায় করে ছেড়ে দেই। এভাবেই আমরা দুর্নীতি দমনের সেন্টিমেন্টকে কাজে লাগাই এবং আন অফিসিয়ালি প্রচুর টাকা ইনকাম করি।”

এরপর দুর্নীতি স্যারকে পুলিলো সোপর্দ করে দেয়া হলো। (সমাপ্ত।)
