"I destroyed the militant base and returned home."
I have given HSC first year exam. But the volatility has not diminished yet.
In the month of Baishakh, there is a lot of activity like catching baby birds from different types of trees, foxes, mongooses and civet cat babies from earthen holes.
One day my father went to Tongi in Gazipur for world convene. So I have to look after the housework.
Four days later my father came home. But he brought with him two hujur type people. Originally, they were not brought by my father, but they came with my father. One is Lalu Chowdhury and the other is Tikka Khan.
Talking to them, I realized that even though they have little knowledge about religion, they are very expert at flattering people.
I told my father and I went to catch mongooses baby. I went home in the evening with two mongooses babies.
Seeing mongooses babies in my hand, Lalu said, "You go to college but why do you catch mongooses babies ? You will pass HSC, Honors, Masters and BCS and become DC, SP or Secretary. Catching mongooses babies does not suit you."
I said, "Then what do I look like?"
Tikka said, "You will read more and more."
I said, "I read a lot."
Then after showing me the different books I had bought, Lalu said, "It's good to read Islamic books, but why read James Bond?"
I said, "Reading James Bond increases patriotism."
Then Tikka said, "We can make you a bigger patriot than James Bond if we want to."
I said, "James Bond is the fictional character of Ian Fleming."
Tikka said, "But we will make you real."
I said, "How?"
"We have training camps in remote areas. We have trainers there. With training from them, you can easily join the ranks of army officers and become patriots like James Bond," Tikka said.
I said, "How many days of training do you have to take?"
Lalu said, "A month and a half."
I said, "My father won't let me stay out of the house for a month and a half."
Tikka said, "We will get permission from your father. But we have to say different things, you will not be angry when you hear them."
Tikka said going to my father , "Your son is very disobedient. If it is continue like this, one day the boy will be completely out of your control. So now is the time to subdue the boy."
Lalu said, "If he goes with us to a religious travel , he will come back home as a unique person. He will come and fall at your feet, make you perform ablution during the five daily prayers ...."

"জঙ্গি ঘাঁটি ধ্বংস করে বাড়ি ফিরে এলাম।"
এইচএসসি ফার্স্ট ইয়ার পরীক্ষা দিয়েছি। কিন্তু চঞ্চলতা এখনো কমেনি।
বৈশাখ মাসে নানান রকম গাছ থেকে হরেক রকম পাখির বাচ্চা ধরা, মাটির গর্ত থেকে শেয়াল, বেজি আর খাটাশের বাচ্চা ধরা প্রভৃতি চঞ্চলতা চলছেই।
একদিন বাবা গেলেন গাজীপুরের টঙ্গীতে বিশ্ব ইজতিমায়। তাই বাড়ির কাজ - কর্ম আমাকেই দেখতে হচ্ছে।
চারদিন পর বাবা বাড়ি এলেন। কিন্তু সঙ্গে নিয়ে এলেন দুজন হুজুর টাইপের লোক। মূলত ওদেরকে বাবা নিয়ে আসেন নি, বরং বাবার সঙ্গে ওরাই চলে এসেছে। একজনের নাম লালু চৌধুরী আরেকজনের নাম টিক্কা খান।
ওদের সঙ্গে কথা বলে বুঝলাম, ধর্ম সম্পর্কে ওদের জ্ঞান কম থাকলেও মানুষকে তেলবাজি করে তোষামোদ করাতে বেশ পারদর্শী।
বাবাকে বলে আমি চলে গেলাম বেজির বাচ্চা ধরতে। দুটো বেজির বাচ্চা ধরে সন্ধ্যাবেলা চলে এলাম বাড়িতে।
আমার হাতে বেজির বাচ্চা দেখে লালু বলল, " তুমি কলেজে পড়ো অথচ বেজির বাচ্চা ধরো কেন ? তুমি এইচএসসি, অনার্স, মাস্টার্স আর বিসিএস পাশ করে ডিসি, এসপি অথবা সচিব হবা। বেজির বাচ্চা ধরা তোমার শোভা পায় না। "
আমি তখন বললাম, " তাহলে আমার কী শোভা পায় ? "
টিক্কা বলল, " বেশি বেশি পড়বা। "
আমি তখন বললাম, " আমি অনেক বেশি পড়ি। "
তখন আমার ক্রয় করা বিভিন্ন বই দেখানোর পর লালু বলল, " ইসলামি বই পড়ো খুব ভালো, কিন্তু জেমস বন্ড পড়ো কেন ? "
আমি বললাম, " জেমস বন্ড পড়লে দেশপ্রেম বৃদ্ধি পায়। "
তখন টিক্কা বলল, " আমরা চাইলেই তোমাকে জেমস বন্ডের চেয়ে বড় দেশপ্রেমিক বানাতে পারব। "
আমি বললাম, " জেমস বন্ড তো ইয়ান ফ্লেমিংয়ের কাল্পনিক চরিত্র। "
টিক্কা বলল, " কিন্তু আমরা তোমাকে বাস্তবেই বানাব। "
আমি বললাম, " কীভাবে ? "
টিক্কা বলল, " দুর্গম অঞ্চলে আমাদের প্রশিক্ষণ ক্যাম্প আছে। সেই স্থানে আমাদের প্রশিক্ষক আছে। ওদের কাছ থেকে প্রশিক্ষণ নিয়ে সেনাবাহিনীর অফিসার পদে সহজেই যোগ দিয়ে জেমস বন্ডের মতো দেশপ্রেমিক হতে পারবা। "
আমি বললাম, " কত দিনের প্রশিক্ষণ নিতে হবে ? "
লালু বলল, " দেড় মাস। "
আমি বললাম, " দেড় মাস বাড়ির বাইরে থাকার অনুমতি বাবা দিবেননা। "
টিক্কা বলল, " আমরা তোমার বাবার কাছ থেকে অনুমতি নেব। কিন্তু আমাদেরকে নানান রকম কথা বলতে হবে, তুমি সেগুলো শোনে রাগ না করে চুপ করে থাকবা। "
আব্বার কাছে গিয়ে টিক্কা বলল, " আপনার ছেলেটা খুবই অবাধ্য। এভাবে চলতে থাকলে একদিন ছেলেটা সম্পূর্ণভাবে আপনার নিয়ন্ত্রণের বাইরে চলে যাবে। তাই এখনই সময় ছেলেটাকে বশে আনার। "
লালু বলল, " আমাদের সঙ্গে যদি এক চিল্লায় যায়, তবে অনন্য মানুষ হয়ে বাড়ি ফিরে আসবে। এসে আপনার পায়ে পড়বে, পাঁচ ওয়াক্ত নামাযের সময় আপনাকে ওযু করিয়ে দেবে...। "
